Devotion to the Political Party is the be-all and end-all for many. The devoted eschew morality/integrity/religion/TRUTH for it. WHY?

Whatever happened to "Thou shalt have no other God before me" or words to that effect? How can you worship a political party so much that you lose everything for it?
