You have to know what you are doing to live like that. If you let go and just see God all the time, what do you need with valuables? You want to help. You devote yourself to the happiness of others, or at least easing the pain.
If you just give as a knee-jerk reaction with no sense of really why, you are going to be impoverished and begging in the streets, because all it was is that you cannot manage your life and had no reason at all.
