Discussion»Questions»Life and Society» Do abused animals experience despair and fear in a similar way that humans do? They can only communicate with their eyes/body language. Sad?
I have seen abused animals and even had one that had been abused before I got the dog. She was so afraid of me for months no matter how I coaxed and showed love for her. She finally became playful. Yes it is a sad situation.
((hugs)) Pardon the presumptuous hug Rick. Good for you for being patient and loving and consistent with her. You saved her from a very sad existence and early death. Good job! Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday! :)
I think they do. I remember one time we found an abandoned dog running loose in the street so we stopped and took her home with us. We never found her owner and eventually found a new home for her with a nice family. Apparently she loved the wife and children, but feared the man of the family and it took several months for her to finally warm up to him. Makes me wonder if a man had been mistreating her and dumped her in the middle of nowhere.
