    When someone swears at you and calls you names like MF etc, just say "Ah I see your high intelligence is showing."

    Yes, I learned that. I am a native Californian and when I heard my Southern Mother in law say that to me, I thought she was being a concerned loving mother in law. Until later on when I found out she was just being good at being a mother in law. LOL

    Well-meaning but utterly deflating "encouragement" like, "it's easy, anyone can do it!", and "you can do anything if you put your mind to it."
