Would you purchase a self drive car?

yes. as a non-driver i think it would be exceedingly convenient. and depending on how well they actually operate, i'm thinking the roads would be a lot safer if most current drivers would switch to self-driving vehicles. 

Would it be legal to sit in the back and drink.  If not, what's the point?

I think the roads would be a lot safer if people stopped talking on their cell phones and texting while driving. They would also be safer if more people exibited some courtesy - i.e., using your directional signals when changing lanes, actually yielding at a yield sign, actually stopping at a stop sign, etc.

Only if every car in the country was connected to the GPS network! I wouldn't trust a computer to not drive me straight into a regular car driver!
