  • If I dare to do or say something, it means that in my mind I've chosen to take a risk to try something that might not be successful. This is sometimes my way of experimenting. I will choose it if I think a possible failure is relatively easy to fix but a success will be well worth the effort or cost. Trying to write a humorous story would be an example.

In general, I would not dare to do something illegal or offensive. The exceptions would be very minor things like J-walking or picking up a hitch-hiker. I might sometimes cause offence if I've become angry and lost my temper. In the latter case I back down, apologise and seek a resolution as quickly as possible.

I dare to speak my mind all of the time. I dare not lie or ignore things that bother me. I would never dare to do that which is illegal because there's no allure there for me. That would be like having a Sword of Damocles over my head constantly that could fall down upon and slay me at any time. When you do wrong there is always the chance of being found out. When you lie you have to worry about being found out. Well that used to be how it was. These days with donjohn blazing a new trail and lowering the standards everyone around him who surrounds him lies all the time  and then lies about lying just precisely as he does. It is a fulltime job that all pols take on..expecially the GOP toadies who are so spineless and soulless they do whatever they are told to do. Bah Humbug.  I never regret what I say. Sometimes I wish I had said it in a different way. But I never regret sharing my truth which gets me in a lot of trouble with some folks and attracts some folks to me. You win some and you lose some but you're always in the game. You can't go wrong bring truthful. No one is going to call you a liar or out you for it! Thank you for your reply Hartfire. I never have a problem apologizing. I do it all the time! :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 22, 2017 3:29 AM MST
