I think it should be a rule that a person can only do one blog every 5 days or so. What say you?

I'm sick of these members  who cannot get attention any other way, clogging up the page with their ceaseless blogs, usually about the same rant.

ENOUGH already.

One blog is plenty for some priceless commentary.

  • full disclosure: i've never visited the blog section.

otherwise:even though it's annoying to see the same BS from the same individual presented in a thousand different ways, i think there should be no limits. it takes practice, but you can just ignore the crappy blogs.

    No.  NOT good enough.

If they want a section to themselves, they can start a stupid club.   Then all the like-minded yes men can join up or not.  That should be up to the club starter.

NOT THE BLOG section.  Blogs are long commentary that need some explanation for a point of view or whatever, but it is not some section where the writer gets to post ad nauseum some commentary.  With no chance of anyone giving feedback about it.

Giving feedback curtails the bloggers who want to just babble from babbling over and over again.  When they see what the fruits of their babble produce, then maybe they will curtail their zealotry for narcissitic nonsense.

That is for those of us who do not ignore the blogs.  Just because you don't care, doesn't mean I don't care. I care.  Why should I ignore the blogs so some idiot can take over and not let anyone else comment?  That is not how this site should be run.

You make a statement, you need to listen back or get off the blog section.

That is not how a site should be set up.     That gives the weak and stupid way too much power on here and makes people pissed off.  It makes me pissed off.

    I don't ignore anything. IF I did, I wouldn't be on here.

    Hello l:

The issue ISN'T crappy blogs..  It's CRAPPY blogs that have DISABLED any comments about them..  What you say is true, there should be no limits..  Saying people CANNOT comment on the crap you write, IS a limit.

Of course, we all have the option to ignore and not read them.

Well that, and taking over the whole page is kind of irritating.   It would be like me posting 20 questions in a row over and over again.

But even then, people on here get a SAY.

  • all your worries and cares... they are yours to ruminate over, if you wish.

take it to JA is my advice, but i'm of the thought that ignoring trolls starves them to death... eventually.

you can't 'make' people listen. that's just a fact. people only listen if they want to.

btw, there is no "power" here. that's simply an illusion.

i ignore lots of stuff here... and i'm on here. *pinches self.. yep, i'm all here. =)

Why don't you just ignore the whole site then?
Some people do because of this.

The idea of changing things is to IMPROVE them so things do not go the way of Answer Bag.  At least on Answer Bag, no one got away with being a zealot dictator who takes to the BLOG section and DELIVERS speeches about nonsense that aggravates the rest of us.

Again, if I have to IGNORE things, that gives the trolls rights over me.

  • just ignore it. you and they both know why they can't handle commentary on their writing. hell, i haven't been around there to see the blogs no one can comment on and even i know why. it's all crap. ignore it.

OK. But you just got me to look at the Blog section for the first time! I guess since I was used to Answerbag, I focused on the Q&A part of this site.

Well, you have a right to your opinion and I have a right to try and  change things that need to be considered changing.

So, those of you who just breeze along with the breeze, can keep breezing.  How nice for you to be able to ignore.

If it were not for those of us who attempt to affect change?  If we  were not around, god knows what you would need to IGNORE.

    Whatever.

We shall handle them as we handle blabber mouths in other areas of life. Ignore them or talk about how annoying they are because you cant really do anything else.

Stu, you and I have gone round and round about many things.  But, I don't get to disable my comments so you cannot have a say.

If you see the quality of some of that stuff and the same avatar saying them, it gets to you when you cannot return a comment.

I mean what are they afraid of?  If we say something insulting or attacking, we will be reported.  I know. I have BEEN reported. LOL

    Hello again, queen:

I will NEVER be silent in the face of bigotry and ignorance - NEVER.  You HAVE read the following tome, have you not?

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

If people want to do 5 blogs a day they should be allowed to, as long as there is no trolling or spam involved. I only posted one blog here, and that was on June 6th. I very rarely bother with the blog section.

Well, comparing the site to what you do, Andy does not make a difference to me.

There are people on here that read stuff.  I read stuff.  Some of the stuff I read needs a comment.  You like to comment don't you?  I see you commenting to me all the time and I like and appreciate your every word.

But that does not qualify me to say what is what.  Some people do not like comments.  That doesn't give them a right to tell us either way what to do about them.

If you go on a public site and open your big yap, you need to get public comments back.  Period.   And as far as blogging 5 times a day?  Pick a separate subject and I am okay with it.

Any more than one on a subject by the same person constitutes SPAM to me.

Yes.  There should. But since there is no limit on the POSTING BEHAVIORS,  I am making a POINT am I not?  What is good for the big mouth geese is good for the big mouthed ganders .

Well Nelly we cannot if they disable the comments.    I know I went over board here, but you know, I did get some attention to a problem that is growing.  People disabling comments.
