Outrageous! Ever paid 79 cents for one large lemon? That's what they cost* yesterday. What's the most overpriced anything you ever saw?

Of course I didn't buy any. I have a large lovely loaded lemon tree in the backyard. There is no substitute for fr esh lemon juice. The bottled isn't usable. It's AWFUL. Would you or have you ever paid that much for a lemon ( a real lemon..not something else that turned out to be a lemon).

    Price of lemons here have been 79 cents per each for quite a while now -still reasonable for the health benefits. A while ago tomatoes were 2.39 a pound and broccoli was 3. something. 
    Can't recall anything outrageously overpriced -some organics are about double the regular stuff.

    Thanks Kg. If you told me you're Canadian before  apologies for  forgetting. My son and his then-wife skied at Whistler years ago! I've seen photos and it is BEYOND GORGEOUS! Ever skied there?

    No never been to Whistler -never was a skier. I was more of a hiker, did the Grouse Grind many times. 
    Grouse Mountain and some of the other mountains in North Vancouver.

    I didn't see them, but another member here (I can't remember who.) lives in NYC and told me a dozen earthworms for fishing was $20.

    OK. Here's an ignorant question. Can't you just go into your backyard and dig some up for free or are the earthworms used for fishing a special variety? Thank you for your reply Ele and Happy Sunday! :)

    I don't see many in my yard anymore. They are only a couple of dollars a dozen. They are raised in Canada.

    Oh. I am not a fisherwoman so I don't really know about stuff like that. We don't have a dirt-based yard in Hemet. We live in  retirement community so all we have is just a little tiny bit of soil here and there that accommodates a lemon tree in back and a few rose bushes out front. We have rocks and we have cement grass, green in color. It's so funny to see folks walk around  the cement so they don't step on it! Thank you for your reply.

    I buy most of my fruits and veggies at the 99 cent store. I get them in a bag for 99 cents.
    Most come six in a bag.

    My sis shops at their 99 cent store in Carson City, Nevada and she is always telling me about the fantastic deals they get. We've gone to ours and it's a little dicey. Sometimes you luck out and get some really good stuff. Sometimes not so much. Thank you for your reply Lulu'sMom! You can't beat their prices and often the quality is just as good as elsewhere! Timing is everything! :)
