Sen. Orrin Hatch (R) Utah thanked a newpaper that blasted his integrity. Was it tongue-in-cheek or did he not read the article?

He shared the "Honor" of "Utahn of the year" which was the headline. If that's all he read then he reacted before he knew what was said about him which was scathing! Do you react to headlines or do you read the entire thing before reacting?

    Perhaps he is practicing Proverbs:

    21If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;

    if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.

    22In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,

    and the Lord will reward you.

    I think you are being far too kind and giving credit where none is due m2c. Of course I don't KNOW for sure but I think he just glanced at the headline and reacted to it then later discovered the article was a scathing indictment of him. You could be right though. Hatch never struck me as being particularly spiritual or religious or thoughtful but maybe he just is very low key. I don't know the man so it's just an opinion. Thank you for your reply! :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 28, 2017 4:17 AM MST
