    Very adolescent rhetoric.  I would not even want to know anybody who would shoot themselves or throw themselves under a bus to "prove" they love me.

    No I did not mean your question was "adolescent" but just that kind of thinking and extreme impractical romanticism. I have read things like that on the net but I did not grow up with anything like that. You help people in whatever ways you can - which may incidentally involve being shot or being hit by a bus - but to define a relationship by such impractical extremes is irresponsible I guess unless you are a teenager.
