Bindi is an amazing young woman! I have a cousin who took over his dad's business. It's not as impressive as Miss Irwin, it's a dry cleaner store.

She guested on "Dancing with the Stars" and I always adored her as a child but I so admire her as a grown woman. I know her dad is proud as punch. Who wouldn't be?   So does your cuz enjoy his work? I hope so because we spend so much of our time at work. I bet his dad is beyond very happy.  Thank you for your reply LC! My dad was a tool & die maker and my mom was a professional seamstress. She was a sample maker for some dress designers in downtown Los Angeles. I'm a retired Internal Auditor...pretty far afield from what my parents did.:)

My cousin always loved hanging around with his dad in the shop, so he really does enjoy the work. He likes the hum of the machines and the smell of the clothes when they do a regular wash service. He also loves interacting with the customers. It's not a big business, but it's a successful one. He loves all his customers, but simply adores his regulars.
I saw the season when she was on DWTS, she was simply amazing.  This post was edited by LostChild at December 29, 2017 5:06 AM MST

That is really heartwarming LC. He loved hanging out with his dad BY CHOICE as a kid so it was a natural for him to take over. He is one lucky dude because I think some folks are EXPECTED to take over and allow themselves to be chained by other people's expectations. That doesn't bode well for anyone. Thank you for your reply. She was amazing on DWTS. Didn't she win?

    She did indeed win.
He wasn't forced into. He actually took business classes in college to prepare himself to be owner one day. Uncle Vince still comes in once in a while, but it's mainly to see some of the regulars, not to do any actual work. :) Actually, he will run the counter if my cousin gets a little busy.

She is a darling young woman. I hope for all the best for her. Her dad's death was such a shock and such a weird odd bizarre thing to happen to him specifically. An animal lover being taken o ut by an animal (stringray?) If your cousin hung out with his dad at the shop as he was growing up clearly it was something he enjoyed. I love to see family businesses. Years ago in Riverside, California I went to a gas station regularly where the adult son ran the place..the grandpa was there to help out. The grandkids were there all the time working the cash register or sweeping or straightening things up. It was delightful. I always got my gas there and took my car there for repairs. It wasa friendly homey place to be where the folks really cared about their customers. I'm gonna ask a question about it. Thank you for your reply LC! :)
