    I think there are more good people than bad.  Unfortunately, the media sells more news reporting on the bad ones.

    I asked a question on Answerbag once. I said if there were a cable news show that reported ONLY good news who would watch it? You can guess what I got? No one would watch it. Well I would but then I'd go to the other stations to see what else was going on I expect. Thank you for your reply Spunky.

    Unfortunately, we gravitate towards the worst part of the news rather than the best.  I'm not sure why.

    I think it's a combination of being drawn that which is horrific, just as most people rubberneck when passing an auto accident, and practical self-interest.  That the local fundraiser was a success might be good news, but that there has been a spate of muggings in an area we frequent is important to us personally.

    Yes.  I couldn't guess the ratio, but base my opinion on experience and observation.
