Loyalty. Something the obscenely wealthy have very little of. They throw one another under the bus 24/7. Are the poor loyaler?

Is loyalty a fiction/fantasy/ideal that has never existed?

    They are disloyal but on a lower scale.

    If Trump is disloyal, it is in the interest of business.  If I am disloyal, I am trying to keep dinner on the table.

  • A successful agency that finds jobs for people found in its research that companies which have dubious or illegal practices demand loyalty of their employees, while companies with integrity in their practices demand honesty.
    I think the old-fashioned "virtue" of loyalty is one of the worst values ever lauded. It means people who are doing bad and illegal things get protected by their nearest associates who are often also the victims - for instance, battered wives and children.
    Another new development that I can't bear is "loyalty rewards" in which businesses try to bribe a customer to return by putting up prices and then offering a discount for "membership." I won't return unless the service and the product is good.
     
    The only time I give loyalty (support and help) is when I know from experience that the person is honest and responsible so that in an unfortunate event, I could trust their word on the probability of what happened.

    Doofus don has taken "loyalty" to a new low. He is absolutely paranoid about it. He DEMANDS that everyone be loyal to him but you can see there is zero reciprocity. The shocking thing to me is that so many agree with it and give it mindlessly thoughtlessly robotically endlessly to him. As if they were waiting for this particular snake oil salesman all their lives and he finally arrived and they were oh so ready for him. They are blind to what is going on and they, like him, want what they want NOW and don't give a rat's a** about tomorrow. So the  laws that have protected us health-wise, environment wise, financial-wise are either gone or tootheless/gutted and we shall pay a heavy price for it. I don't understand why the supporters of this vile subhuman being cannot foresee what is coming. Thank you for your thoughtful reply Hartfire. I can understand being loyal to someone who works in your best interests but being loyal to an immoral self-obsessed senile old man who is only interested in what benefits him is beyond inexplicable. :( This post was edited by RosieG at January 6, 2018 3:28 AM MST
