Yes, but I don't follow rules.  I wore white shoes on my wedding day, which was after Labor Day, as well as many other times.

Did you ever understand the why of it?  Anyway I have never been accused of being knowledgeable about  fashion or any rules attendant thereto so I just wore whatever I felt like wearing whenever I felt like wearing it. Thank you for your reply Bozette! :) This post was edited by RosieG at January 14, 2018 6:58 AM MST

I believe it is white clothing not just shoes.
    Weddings being an obvious exception.

Why no white after labor day? What kind of dumba** rule is that? Whose rule was it?  SIGH. Thank you for your reply m2c. White is alright. So is Black. So is every other color. Right?

    I don't know, why? I wear what I want. I don't wear white...it stains too easy.

White doesn't stain when I wear it so much as it self-mutates into a multi-colored garment as I put it on...lol

Here is an article. No one knows for sure. But weather is a theory. White beats heat of summer but not as feasible during raining fall seasons with mud etc.
