Didn't there used to be some dumb rule that you oughtn't wear WHITE shoes after Labor Day? Why would anyone actually do that?

Did you ever understand the why of it?  Anyway I have never been accused of being knowledgeable about  fashion or any rules attendant thereto so I just wore whatever I felt like wearing whenever I felt like wearing it. I don't know, why? I wear what I want. I don't wear white...it stains too easy. 

White doesn't stain when I wear it so much as it self-mutates into a multi-colored garment as I put it on...lol

Here is an article. No one knows for sure. But weather is a theory. White beats heat of summer but not as feasible during raining fall seasons with mud etc.
