Paying money to a Porn Star for being quiet about having sex with donjohn while married to Melania doesn't bother his peeps. WHAT WILL?

There is NO MORAL/PHYSICAL/EMOTIONAL OUTRAGE donjohn can commit that is too vile that will reach his supporters or affect them enough to abandon him if donjohn is the perp. Notice I didn't include intellectual. That he ain't.  SIGH. I wonder why they look the other way and rather than admitting what a foul  person he is  they say WHAT ABOUT is sufficient to answer it. It isn't. It's a pathetic admission that they can't answer the question so they do a turnabout and do a "whatabout?" and hope to he** you don't notice. We notice.

    No one is surprised Trump was a sl*t....he has never denied it. In fact seems to take pride in it. It is about the issues..."the economy, stupid", securing the border,  etc.

    So you admit you will put up with whatever crap he dishes out as long as you get what you want which is jobs, border security and a WALL? You sell your soul for that? You throw away your honor/integrity/compassion for that?  An honest reply which I appreciate. It underscores the depths to which otherwise kind and compassionate humans have become much less than they used to be. When they focus on what's in it for them and don't give a rat's a** about what it costs others? Perfect SELFISH. How is that Christian?     They pass themselves off as CHRISTIANS or otherwise religious people while they continue to support a vile piece  of trash in doofus don which they freely admit is a vile piece of trash. They're just kidding themselves. To the degree they refuse to abandon him is the same degree they have abandoned the good they used to value and the religious teachings they used to support.     What M2C said. The people who support him don't support him for his values. They believe in what he can accomplish. 

    I was reading editorials on this yesterday and one pointed out that we mostly have fatigue over his bad behavior. We all know he's a terrible person. Nobody really questions that. Any new news is old news, at least as it pertains to his character and treatment of women and minorities. And, the more people talk about it, the more fatigued we get by it. It's not new news, so we tune it out. Moreover, because nobody actually thinks he's a man of character (aside from a select few), there is likely nothing that could possibly make anyone think less of him as a person. He has set the bar that low. 

    If he fails to come through on his presidential promises, then he'd lose support. So far, it appears he's following through, or at least trying to. I'd liken it to making a deal with the devil though, or a jinn, depending on your preferred mythology. When you're dealing with an entity that has no character or moral fortitude, anything they do will be self-serving in some nature. You may be promised your three wishes, but how those come to fruition will likely never be how you expected, and you'll pay dearly for the deal.

    This is a very thoughtful and comprehensive analysis in response to my question JA for which I thank you. So the  donjohn supporters freely admit he is vile trash. Here's what I think and I"m gonna ask a question about it it. The degree to which they refuse to abandon him is the degree to which they abandoned  their religious teachings. They cannot have it both ways JA. They are kidding themselves if they don't realize they have abandoned any semblance of living a righteous life that God/Jesus would endorse. They cling tightly to a vile piece of trash for what they think he will give them. What does that make them? Yet they still probably go to church, repeat the bible verses and think of themselves as "good" people. There is nothing good about such hypocrisy. There is nothing decent or true or honorable. They have abandoned all of that for the every evil doofus donjohn. When you make a deal with the devil as all his supporters have done how do you not serve the devil? I'm going to ask that question.
