Refusing to acknowledge that you see what you see. Denying that it is what it is. That changes nothing. It still happens. Denying it doesn't stop it. So what is the point of denying?

Because it makes us feel better. The extreme example is the man who wont believe his child died in the crash he caused. It just must not be true.

I can understand that example very well JakobA. Some things are just too terrible to accept so you find a way around it. Thank you for your  reply. That's about the worst example I can think of...losing a child in any way would be awful but being the cause of it? :(
