Are all billionaires etical/moral bums? Saw "The Social Network". If true whatta bum Mark Z is . Are Bill Gates/Warren Buffet bums too?

We KNOW donjohn is a class A bum. Maybe it's easier to list those who are not bums. Anyone know any non-bum billionaire?  :(

Bill and Melinda Gates’ namesake foundation has already contributed more financial support to charitable causes worldwide than any entity outside of a few national governments. That gap is narrowing. Gates himself stepped down from running Microsoft to oversee the philanthropy full-time.

Look it up. They’ve also enlisted a host of other billionaires (including Buffet AND Zuckerburg) to donate the majority of their fortunes to this cause, as well. Bums?

Gotta call foul on your wide brush of bias against the rich, Rosie. Wealth has no monopoly on poor character. You’ll find people generally don’t get rich and stay rich by being bums. That sort of talk can sound like sour grapes. This post was edited by Don Barzini at January 26, 2018 4:14 AM MST

I am quite well aware of what they do. What I'm asking is did Gates get where he was honorably/honestly or did he screw people? I recall some conroversy long ago Don. I don't have to look anything up. Bill and Melinda are the ones who got other billionaires to sign a pledge that most of their fortunes will committed to charigtable acts. Once again my point is what did Gates to others to get where he is? All noble and above-board and pure of heart? Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday.  Your turn.

Clearly, we differ in our definition of what a “bum” is. To me, it’s someone with little net worth, no real life accomplishment, who lives off of other people’s graces. Your definition seems to comprise of people who are doing better than you are.

If one has any modicum of grasp of the business world, we accept that rising to it’s pinnacle encompasses overcoming the competition.
    Business 101.
Did Gates and/or other billionaires step on some toes on the way up, elbow others aside? Probably. All who are engaged in this competitive realm know what they sign up for. Some win, many don’t. This is life, and it’s not fair.

Even with a decade of higher education, I can not speak intelligently about what motives lie in the heart of a person I’ve never met. A fool’s errand.

What I DO know, is I could fill pages of this site with the names of very wealthy people and their generous deeds who’ve done more for the betterment of the world and humanity than you, or even I, have. Bums, you say; sour grapes, I say. This post was edited by Don Barzini at January 26, 2018 8:55 PM MST

I'll bet those moral bums have done more to benefit humanity than you have. Just a gut feeling. ;)

I am not questioning the charitable foundations or the philanthropy or signing a pledge to give most of their fortunes to charities. I am questioning how they got there.  Were they all honest/honorable/moral or did they cheat their way to success and screw people? That is what I'm asking. Now your point is quite absurd and uncalled for. I am NOT a billionaire. We rent. We live on social security. Making this question about me rather than answering it disappoints me. Oh well you live and learn. I just learned something about you I didn't know. Learning is always good. Thanks for showing up. Happy Friday. Rosie, you’ve always known I never shy away from calling you out on your nonsense. Don’t act like this is something new you’ve learned about me.  This post was edited by Paynuts at January 26, 2018 7:28 AM MST

But where did you learn to hate and downgrade as well as attack people who are successful?  Was it from your parents?  Your community?  Or is it just simple jealousy?   Should people just have no dreams, ambitions, do no work?  Should we make no sacrifices, or make something of our lives, should we not hope for anything better for ourselves and our families?  Should we all just stay poor and hate everyone else?  Is that moral and ethical?
