You are right. And it hurt us. It ran our jobs away. And our Presidents told us deal with it, they are not coming back, go back to school. I seen my home town to from a thriving manufacturing town with 10 factories to a run down town with 1 factor and growing crime stats and drugs issues. The coal mines have opened back up and I can see growth starting to come back to it.
That is not true. If you don't see to yourself first then you don't last very long. That is called survival. My sense is that many Americans became tired of supplying aid to countries who used it only to oppose us and plot against us. And "caring" about other countries, as far as diplomacy is concerned, is primarily a matter of furthering out own interests as a country. Anyway "caring" is a human emotion and a government is not human! Nothing is stopping you from sensing financial or other kinds of aid to another country you "care" about. But why would you expect your government to do it for you? Do you not act as an individual?
