If Republicans had rejected the southern racists who fled to their party when they left the Dems wouldn't the GOP still be GRAND?

The racists who fled the Dems after the Civil Rights movement in the  60's would have to form their own party and not take over/destroy the party of Abraham Lincoln. Sad that the Republicans didn't shun them and ignore them and refuse them entry. They sold the historical integrity and honor of being a Republican for votes. The ALT-RIGHT WHITE NATIONALISTS,WHITE SUPREMACISTS,SKINHEADS,MILITIA GROUPS have joined with the OTHER racists/bigots to be Republicans and to poison whatever was left of the dignity of being Republican. Goodbye Grand Old Party. Forever?

Are we back playing the race card?

Robert Byrd.....KKK member of the Dem party until the  end and referred to as a mentor by Hillary.

LBJ fought against the civil rights movement while in Congress. But had to sign it as Pres, but we all know what we said about signing it.

We know who voted to passed the civil rights laws.

And we know that MLK was still fighting for civil rights after the laws signed by LBJ and MLK encouraged people to vote Republican because they were the party of equality.....I believe MLK was certainly a very informed voter on the topic.

The southern states' legislators did not become controlled by Republicans until the 1990s and 2000s. Where was this switch in the 1960s and 1970s?
