Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Can you cut-and-paste your way to greatness or do you need to have authentic unique creative ability all your own? Are copycats successful?
Copycats can be successful if they are better at handling or manufacturing or marketing a product. And success does not equal "greatness" except sometimes. Not does it have much to do with creativity necessarily. Most great ideas are thought up be some people but more successfully marketed by others.
Thank you for your reply officegirl and Happy Thursday. I'm a fan of originals. I don't admire those who ride the coattails of others. They are lazy and lack inventiveness/creativity/unique originality They let others do all the heavy lifting and then swoop and grab whatever they can get away with so I have no use for them. Just my opinion.
OK but the only thing is - how do you know they are the "originals"? Maybe they got it from somewhere else! Anyway we are not all creative people so we get on by cutting and pasting - we have to and we naturally do.
