The Bill of Rights. The Constitution/The Bible/The Koran/The Torah. Words on paper/parchment. What do they mean to you? Why?

Folks SAY they are important/meaningful/important. Folks lie. How many people live up to the tenets within or the laws/rules/commandments/amendments 24/7? Talk is big. It is also very cheap.  Many pay attention only to what is convenient for them at the moment and ignore the rest. The GREAT PRETENSE. Typical.

The Constitution and its amendments are not the same as the Bible etc. The Constitution does not give instructions on how we are to behave it give the instructions for the rights we have and the rights the government has.

I believe most people at least try to follow the tenets of their religion. We cannot follow to the letter...that is why we all need God's grace.

I didn't say that they were equivalent documents m2c. I said they are important to people or so they say. So don't put words in my mouth. Please. Thank you for your reply. I think most people just pay lip service and are liars. They talk the talk but they don't walk it. That doesn't fly with me. They are all phonies in my opinion. If you do not LIVE IT 24/7 but just when it is convenient for you to do so then you are a phony. Period. SIGH.

Well the Torah is part of The Bible which I believe is The Word of God so I must deal with it and take it most seriously and have some kind of working understanding.  I do not believe in the Koran. The Bill of Rights is important to me because it reflects historical interpretations of the ideals that underlie the freedom I enjoy in this country.

Now we can argue and do argue over interpretations of what is written.  And some people I am not a Christian at all because I am not following all the "rules" in the Bible while I interpret it as because it is impossible to follow ALL the rules (which are mostly really not "rules' but teachings) then we need the Sacrifice of Christ to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. As my2cents just wrote so well "we all need God's grace".
