I speak well of them in any conversation I have and make sure to uphold their dignity and rember them with respect no matter what
Any soldier or police or anyone in the role of protector, putting themselves out there for our protection, deserves my honor and respect. But "any" soldier or cop that defiles that role, using that position to deliberately harm for no reason, deserves my utter contempt.
Simple.
I respect them in my thoughts every day.
Thank you for your reply Sharonna.
Thank you for your reply StuB and Happy Friday to thee! :)
Wow! You are awesome m'dear. I did not expect such a fabulous answer. Thank you for your reply and also for what you do Spunky! ((hugs))
It's my privilege, thanks, Rosie.
You're very welcome Spunky. I have another internet social site friend whom I met on Answerbag. She drops by Answermug on rare occasion. She is very busy with her real life but we correspond weekly. She gives back so much in the way of volunteering her time and money. If it isn't for a homeless shelter than it is working to get abused pets adopted or going to charity functions. Her husband also participates. I am very proud that someone like her is my friend. You make me proud too. Years ago when I worked for a couple who owned 7 McDonald's Restaurants they were very instrumental in getting the Loma Linda, California Ronald McDonald House built. They worked tirelessly and endlessly and attended planning meetings before work and after work and then they contributed staff time to getting mailing lists ready for fundraisers. . I'd say about 25% of the time the other two gals and I were at work we were working on the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House fundraisers or mailers. My sister and brother-in-law pitched in a few times and helped during the fundraisers. It felt so good DOING something that was going to help someone. So I appreciate you. :)
It really does feel good when you know the person on the other end is going to benefit from the work you do. It's especially nice when you get a thank you note from the recipient for a scarf or a baby blanket or the stuff you send in a care package.
:):):) I'm glad you have received thank you notes Spunky. Thought it isn't why you do it, I think being appreciated is always welcome. :)
I volunteer at a Veterans Medical clinic in Ft Lauderdale on Mondays, for starters .
I understand your sentiment perfectly SJ. There is plenty of evidence to support your views. How sad is that? Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday! :)
Saint Jimmy...They fight and die for themselves, for their friends and families. They fight out of a sense of patriotism and pride. ... The question was, " What do you do to honor / respect those in the military"? Sounds like you're more of a whiner than else !
Rosie..... Please answer carefully...You agree with this loser's view on respecting those who risk their lives voluntarily in service fo their country ???
