From what I hear, there seems to be little enthusiasm among politicians of the Left, Right or Centre for scaling down American military deployment overseas or even halting its increase. So I don't believe this idea will ever come to fruition.
Since I was the one that made the statement, I feel that I should be the one that corrects your erroneous reporting. It's something you have a habit of doing. As I recall it was an either-or question. One or the other. A choice of financing a wall or an effective military. I never said anything about patrolling a wall, nor bring all troops home from global missions. A well financed and equipped military could be utilized on the border in lieu of the expenditure that went with a wall if such a choice were made. It wouldn't be the first time we've used the military on the border. But then, that's what I love about you, there's nothing you won't twist to suit your purpose.
