I am not sticking up for the jerk.  But no one got the hell beaten out of them.  They were both abused, both ex-wives, and he should be fired.   But no one was beaten up and hospitalized.  It was a lot of verbal abuse.  There were a lot of threats and enough manhandling that it was far beyond what is allowed legally.    Just the idea of making them terrified of him and belittling them to the point they were afraid to leave was abuse enough.  When no one in authority would believe them, that was even worse abuse.  And ironically, they spoke to the FBI.  No one did a thing.  The honorable FBI.

Rod put his wives through hell.  He's mentally unstable.  For sure.  But they were not visibly scarred, except for that black eye.  Not scarred but plenty scared.  And that is even more unforgivable.  Holding people who are weaker than you are hostage by making them tiptoe around your moodswings is intolerable, especially when there is a little boy also living in the home.

So, he did enough to get fired, for sure.  I don't like him.  Bad man.

I'll bet Kelly was the same kind of guy.  That is why he is sticking up for him.

The quote was from a Republican Sharon. You disagree that the women were that badly physically harmed.  So your quarrel is with the guy who said those words after the photo was released whose name I do not recall. I don't know what state the women were actually in or how often they were terrorized or pushed or shoved or smacked or slapped  because I did not witness any of it in real time. I only heard the afterwards words and saw the photo. So I don't KNOW.  If anyone ever raised a hand to me whether he connected or not I'd walk. End of story. I would not stick around for any escalation.  Whether you are regularly beaten to a pulp with bones broken and have to rush to the hospital or someone just takes a swing at you and blackens your eye it is all the same to me. It's only a matter of degree. Eventually someone is gonna be killed. Thank you for your reply! :) This post was edited by RosieG at February 9, 2018 3:58 AM MST
