Gonna re-ask. When I ask this I ALWAYS get shot down." Why not have all pols write their own speeches? See how smart/dumb they really are?"

What could it hurt to find out during a campaign if a pol is articulate, cogent, coherent, logical and what he/she has to communicate is pertinent, useful, substantive? Why would be it be such a horrible thing? We wouldn't be wasting our time on ignorant/stupid potential USEFUL IDIOTS. Why would that be so bad a thing to know about someone? Any ideas?
