I think each classroom should have a bullet-proof steel room that kids can duck into when gunfire begins. Lock it from the inside. It might also serve as a tornado-resistant shelter.
Now THAT my friend is a he** uva brilliant idea. A SAFE ROOM. Billionaires have them I've read. No one can penetrate once you're inside. I LOVE it bh. How much would that cost though? Good Job m'dear! :) I just asked a question based on your brilliant idea and used your initials bh. Normally I would NEVER do that without permission but I figured you wouldn't mind if I did so. If you do I'm really sorry. If not thanks my friend! :)

The state educational people would make requirements too costly for a safe room, I would imagine. However, our school district got voter approval for all new buildings. Yikes! But the cost of safe rooms would not be that much more. I will try to contact my Congressman and see what happens.
