    Right to privacy. I agree with

    You do realize that you are taking it out of that context relative to that in which it was said.

    There is no evidence to support it's elevation to a general principle just because it was a series of words uttered (written) by Ben Franklin.

    Plus the alternates are essential liberty vs temporary safety, not liberty vs safety.
