Claudia Tenney (R) New York claims that "so many mass murderers END UP being Democrats". Now does she mean they weren't and then were?

So something about being a mass murderer flips people politically? I wonder how the mind of such a person like that works? I expect fewer Dems own guns than Republicans. So if more of them are the mass murderers among us why don't more of them buy and use guns? If it's a thing Dems do why are so many not doing it? Can anyone explain the puzzling "truth" this person is promulgating?

    I think she means they are Dems. Not became Dems. I think "end up being" means we find out later after the shooting that they are Dems. 

    I don't know it that is true or not. Owning guns is not a party determination, I know gun owners of both parties. 
    My husband has hard core liberals in his family, who during discussion try to dismiss the gun rights debate by saying they are Dems and the believe in the 2nd amendment. I just tell them,  the only politican who banned guns that I knew of was a Dem. It was the only time they were just silent.
