No.  It's why even hunters don't use them.  They smash and splatter anything they come into contact with.

Hunters do use them. For varment hunting. They are not legal for hunting large game in most states such as deer because of there small size, because unless you are a sharpshooter it will not be a clean kill and the animal with suffer. Well I am certainly relieved that high school students tend to to be larger than a deer---wouldn't want those students to be suffering before dying.

Great insight about how using a gun like the AR-15 isn't the worst thing that could have happened to those students.---if they had only been wounded---oh the suffering would have been unbearable.

Now if we could just regular school shooters as easily as we do hunters.... This post was edited by tom jackson at February 25, 2018 12:18 PM MST

I was not talking about students. I was correcting an false talking point that I have heard more than once recently on the news.

I heard that yesterday PeaPod. Only CRAZY people would choose to use an AR15. Nutjobs, Wackos. Nimnuts. Insane. A normal person would never choose such a weapon. Only a monster. Thank you for your reply! :)

It would depend on how hungry I was PeaPod. I carry energy bars in my purse. I really can't stand that gnawing feeling of hunger pangs. Of course if you go hungry long enough I think you stop being hungry. Thank you for your reply!  :)

My brothers and other relatives were hunters when they were still alive. One of my brothers had a case he locked his hunting rifles up in. None of my brothers used these weapons when hunting. NONE! This post was edited by SA (SuperA) at February 25, 2018 12:15 PM MST

Exactly!  I think some gun enthusiasts are really grasping for straws if they are finding any reason they can to make it legal to purchase a semi-automatic.  I just shake my head.

Most of us are not looking to take away guns from responsible people.

My dad always had guns. I was raised around them and learned how to use them.
I was a crack shot until my eyes got bad. He taught me at a young age how to use them and respect them.

And somehow you all survived without the AR15.

The velocity of 3300 ft/sec is about right if the barrel is a 20in. Many are 16in now which lowers the velocity about 105 ft.

But no, it does not fire that many rounds per min. An AR15 fires at most a 45 rounds/min.

Well, heaven knows only being able to kill 45 people a minute is SO much better.

It is a matter of keeping facts correct. Too much misinformation around.
They are not for hunting people. They are for hunting animals.  This post was edited by my2cents at February 25, 2018 12:52 PM MST
