Declaration. I'm a Progressive Liberal Dem and I have ZERO problems with Republicans or Conservatives. Where are they?

Almost all I ever see or hear these days are Trumpians. I know that all Conservatives and Republicans didn't turn against the Republican Party. Where are they hiding? Whom do they fear? Not all  Trumpians turned for love of doofus don. Some are simply opportunists who think that is what is required for them to survive and once the doofus is gone they will just flip back. In the meantime they go along to get along. I do rarely on occasion see/hear one Conservative Republican (the good ones) now and then speaking out. How many TRUE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS untainted by Fascism and Racism and Bigotry there still are I don't know. I think of them and hope they are doing well and that one day they will feel safe enough to return. In the meantime I do not hate them or dislike them or despise them. I feel very sorry for them. I hope you do too.

    I am a conservative and a Republican.
I believe in personal responsibility, personal achievement, and personal accountability.
I am a Christian, twice-born.  I believe God loves all people and all His Creation therefore I have the personal responsibility of helping those less fortunate than I am as well as coming to the aid of that portion of His Creation not able to speak for itself.
I accept and believe in the Constitution of the United States of America and the Bill of Rights.

Twenty, thirty, forty years ago I subscribed to the same beliefs but I was a Democrat.  As the Democratic party became more  haughtily and impractically idealistic, embracing collectivist ideals and methods, and more contemptuous of the everyday reality and experience of fallible humanity, I found myself more in accord generally with Republican beliefs and ideals that allowed more personal freedom.

I did not support President Trump but rather more traditionally conservative candidates.   However I voted for President Trump because the ideals he pledged to uphold and champion came the closest of either candidate to my own.

If not accepting or supporting currently fashionable ideas about women makes me a "sexist" then I accept that designation. if not accepting or supporting currently fashionable ideas about race makes me a "racist" then I accept that designation.  However I would point out that I was never accused of being either one until recent years nor have I ever regarded myself as either.

As to immigration I believe that the current "come one, come all" enthusiasm is not only  impractical but insane and suicidal.  I am opposed to "the wall" because I see it as impractical.

I am "pro-life" and "pro-choice" because I believe in our right to choose as our children, before birth, are part of us and being completely dependent on us do not exist without us.

I am not a "globalist" because I believe globalism seeks to do away with all local distinctions, birthrights, and  traditions.

I believe the purpose of government in to protect our lives, property, and freedoms.  I do not believe government in any way can become our hope, salvation, or conscience.
