I never regretted walking away from anyone that chose to distort the truth in order to be "right".  I see that in our president.  If he ever showed humility, I wouldn't have such a strong dislike of him.  You can lead and still show you "care".

People underestimate us. Some can't see us an INDIVIDUALS, just see us as the enemy of their own values. What they fail to do is see us as people.

Yes, we saw a lot of that on SH and I won't put myself in that position again.

That place was a shock to my system.  

I remember the swarm of people that would jump us every chance they got.
There were some real nuts on that site.

Some very disturbed people.  Wow.  I was naive to how far some would go until it was really in my face.  Never again.  I never regretted staying out of some sites.

SH stands for Soda Heads. It was another site we were on before we came here.

SodaHead was a huge chat site that closed down June of 2015.  I was there a few years. 

Some of us found this place after looking around at others and this is the best, hands down.  

And need I say Hillary Clinton's mentor Dem. Sen Robert Byrd.

Everyone knows that the two parties completely changed since those times.  The old Democrats were really like the Republicans of today.  The KKK of today is going to lean Republican, like it or not.  

Regardless, I personally have never known a racist Democrat, but of course they exist.  

So true Peas. My dad was a Republican and he was nothing like the ones now.
Nor were any of the other ones I knew back 40 years ago.

Many Republicans were (and are) very decent people, just like Democrats.  Family values were (and are) important; not hating everyone that didn't (or doesn't) think like them.

I never knew political hate until I spent time in SodaHead before it closed down.  I was floored.  Most of it came from conservatives.  I personally have been called every name in the book for my beliefs.  I don't care though.  I have a clear conscience.  I care about others and I try to argue the issues with what I know.  I try not to judge someone until they show me who they are.

I used to be able to talk politics with anyone until I got to SH.
Now I am very careful what I say to who because of that.

There is such a deep divide in our country and I would not be truthful if I never seen a hateful comment come from a liberal.  Actually, I never saw it until this election and it makes me sad.  I despise the president, but I wish him no personal harm.  I disagree with a lot of the conservative platform of today, but I am "old school" with how people should treat each other.  

Sadly many people are much "braver" behind their keyboard to spue hate. I have seen it on both sides. We don't get it as much here, thank God because of our respect rules. The ones who like to do that either leaving on their own or end up getting banned. 

I DO like this place because I do see bullying is not tolerated.  That is HUGE.  I would never come online again if it was allowed.  

I know they make that claim but it does not hold up to facts. If they all flipped why was it the turn of the century before control of the state legislatures flipped? If they flipped in the 60s-70s, why did states like AR not flip then....the Rep did not gain control until 1990s and 2000s. Several other southern states are this way.

You do know Sen Robert Byrd? He was a life long Dem and an admitted KKK member. You are aware of LBJs hateful statement about signing the civil rights laws. I realize these you don'
 know them personally.
In real life, the few racists I have known were Dems.  I don't know that many, thank God. The last one was a coworker and avid Hillary supporter. He told me Obama was just a little too dark to be his President. I told him that was not right and I was voting for Mike Huckabee (this was primary season 2008) I was not there anymore at general election time. 
I do think people who have the racist opinions do keep them to themselves generally. Unless they think they see an ally. (I think he since he knew I was not supporting Obama, he had found one. I did set that straight. He didn't bring it up again. 
I had a customer who wanted to buy a statue of a black Caviler man. He said "I want to buy me a ******". I told him I do have any of those and refused to sell him the statue. 

Again, racism can be found on both sides.  I can only tell you my experience.  

I worked for a woman that was openly "conservative".  She often spouted her rhetoric about hating unions and other typical republican issues.  None of us engaged it either.  And you know what?  She came right out with telling us not to bring in anyone "sounding black" when she had a job opening.  One time we scheduled someone who happened to be black and she gave us holy h3ll for it!!!  

The point is, we both could site stories all day long about the racists we have met and whether they were Democrat or Republican.  

The hate groups of today DO often support a Republican president.  That is a fact.  Why?  I would have to look further in there.  My own experience with hard core conservatives is that they are not very open minded to people that are different than them.  MY EXPERIENCE are the key words.

I've been told edfor decades to go back to Mexico from people. I never knew what political affilation was UNLESS they mention it themselves. Recently my hubby was told that he and and all illegals would be sent back and Trump was going to make sure of it. This happened while he was waiting in line to pay for groceries! Funny thing is both of our families are from New Mexico since BEFORE New Mexico was even part of the U.S. Over 500 years ago! 

That is disgusting SA.  What the heck is the matter with people?  Bet they don't mind the Mexicans that have made a few Americans very wealthy since they often work for such minimal wages.  But criticizing that is being a "whiny libtard".  

I'm sorry anyone would speak to you or your husband that way.  You are one of the most intelligent, kindest, caring individual I know.  I feel very lucky you are HERE.  I bet few know about all the volunteer work you have done to help others less fortunate.

That person has more nerve then brains. And we hear more of those kind of insults from Trump supporters then anyone else. I am so sorry your hubby had to listen to that crap.

No doubt there are racists and idiots on both sides. 

So does the American NAZI party (he defended them when he said "some are very good people) after Charlottesville, the ALT-RIGHT WHITE Nationalists, the Skinheads, the militias. All the folks who hate non-whites and non-Jews think he is so very great and he does speak for them and give them hope that his goal is to whitenize America!
