His mother came from the Western Isles of Scotland which experienced a lot of Viking settlement in the first millenium. This means he almost certainly has Scandinavian ancestry even if he doesn't know it, and explains why he has an affinity with the people of that region.

Illegal is the operative word in this question. We are not obligated to accommodate illegals and their crime sprees. If people want to be citizens, let them go through the process that's been in place for a hundred and fifty years. Until they do, we are not obligated to clear a path for their lawlessness and violent felonies, nor should we allow the existence of so called "sanctuary cities" The recent developments in the rogue state of California, prove once and for all that there is more than one form of "prostitution" being practiced. The left coast wants to live in some dream world that qualifies as an alternate reality. I could care less if these illegals look like hot Swedes or a mud fence in a sewage storm. The full weight of Federal authority needs to be brought against the state of California. If the rest of us have to live under the thumb of the Beltway, then you people can do the same.

Republicans do not fare well here. We are not their cuppa tea nor are they ours. The right of a state to decide whether it will be a "rogue" state (I call it being humane, caring and decent) should remain with us. That is what STATE'S RIGHTS is all about. When a racist bigoted FASCIST traitor calls the shots for a country some of us will fight it and speak up against it and REFUSE to bow down under it. Different strokes. You support what makes sense to you. That is your right. Well guess what? It's a two-way street and we have the right to support what makes sense to us. Your way makes a mockery of the words on the Statue of Liberty. Our way coincides with that long-ago sentiment. It is what it is and that's all it is or ever will be. You play the game your way and we play it ours. It's life. You win some you lose some. Depending on how you play the game you may also lose your humanity but hey whatever works. Right?
