"Gun-trained teacher accidentally discharges gun in California classroom injuring student". Not by bullet but by falling debris. Comments?

Dennis Alexander, a reserve police officer, was teaching at Seaside High School in Monterey, California. The class was about public safety.  He pointed the gun at the ceiling and it discharged causing debris from the ceiling to fall and hit the student in the neck. There are many questions to be asked and answered. Multiply this by thousands. Do we have a problem? Will we have a problem? Is there a problem?

I hope those kids who suffer injuries because of this hairbrained move, all have parents who are members of the NRA.  I don't care any more.  What does it take for these morons to wake up?

You don't experiment on the side of KEEPING OUR GUNS.

I could see if the goverment were trying to take away our CARS.  Or our HOMES.  This does not even remotely equate in terms of importance.

Oooo oooo they are taking away our TOYS.  That is what it equates to.  No one needs guns.  That is why we have law enforcement.  If you kept abreast of our government and our police department, then we would not need guns ourselves.  Surely the morons who attend gun shows can spend the same amount of time educating themselves on how to protect the city or neighborhood by employing worthy officers of the law.   We spend more time researching a good restaurant than we do researching people like TRUMP who are ruining our country.

I must have a very dark streak in me humorwise Sharon. When I read this I laughed. I know. I'm not proud of it.  The  boy was not injured badly and I'm sorry he got injured at all but I couldn't help it. The IRONY of it occurring to a trained reserve police officer IN A CLASS ABOUT GUN SAFETY was just too much. Bad Rosie got the giggles. I don't know what I'm gonna do with her!  :( Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday! :)

There goes the students will be safer if the teachers have guns in the class idea.

Every single one of us (excluding the gun people) knew that argument was complete bullsh** Lulu'sMom. I think the delicious irony of it is priceless. A reserve police officer TRAINED to use guns in a class about GUN SAFETY "accidentally" discharges a gun  pointed at the ceiling (fortunately) and a kid gets hurt. It couldn't have been any more ironic. The only better thing would have been for the debris to fall on the shooter and have him get injured! SIGH. The beat goes on and so does the endless dumb! Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday! :)
