Played a few of my daughters and really enjoyed every single one.

You are a natural then.   I am totally disinterested and I know I am in the minority.

Yes.  Some believe they should be an Olympic sport.

Yep ... I've seen the "sport" on one of the ESPN channels, I believe.

I'd love to see wars settled via video games.  LOL

In my opinion it's a pitiful sign of the times.

  • "Yes" ... just another form of entertainment.  Considered a waste of time by many adults,
although they don't seem to feel the same way about television or movies ... for some reason.
Video games, like television, have come a long way!!

  • Say "Hi!" to him from me. Skyrim with the two DLC's - Dragonborn/Dawnguard make for a some great entertainment!
Open world adventure with great music, graphics and a million things to do.
Play as one of five(?) different races as a male or female.
Sword, bow and/or magic capabilities (magic being the weakest ... my opinion).

There are also "fan movies" of the game on YouTube if he's interested in a preview. (I was impressed with them!)

To some, they are very important...as are their permanently attached mobile phones. Neither of them interest me.

I would never use a phone except for the networking job thing.  It was invaluable for that.  You can actually call in sick now and not have to talk to a soul.  That's rad.

We did that to get a substitute when I was teaching, but used my desktop.

No story to tell. We went to the sub website, clicked on the day/days, typed in any messages for the sub, and clicked enter. The subs go to the same website and click on the school/class they want to go to. Very simple.

Unfortunately, that cartoon is so truthful.
I and my friend took her kids on a trip ... and all they wanted to do was stay in the room and play their video games.

Now, everytime they whine that they don't go on vacations - I ask them if they are willing to leave their games behind.
When they say "no", I tell them we aren't going to spend thousands of dollars taking them somewhere, when they can just as well play the games in their room.

They are turning into zombie robots.

Yes, I like video games. Grew up with them starting with the Atari and then the Super Nintendo....Sega....Xbox. My kids have Xbox Ones. They each saved their money to buy it themselves. And Nintendo 3ds. We have a Wii U in the living room.

I think the in-home systems have lost appeal. My kids still use ours, but rarely. Most seem to be into apps and PC gaming.

If you want to see what is trending, watch your kids.  They find everything as far as new games are concerned.
