Do people often mistake your ethnicity? ~

I have a co-worker who is of Arab descent, but there are some people who encounter him for the first time and think that he is Latino. He said it's been happening to him for most of his adult life (he's about 40 years old now.)

A lot of people ask me if I'm Chinese, which I'm not.

No - nobody has ever shown the slightest interest in my "ethnicity".

  • Well, I once got asked if I was Filipino...

I think some people just don't know how to pin down my ethnicity. They act like they've never seen a biracial person before (which I suppose is possible).

No but people have asked me if I was from Eastern Canada, because apparently I have an Eastern Canadian accent. My dad also had that happen to him as well.
