    I never used baby talk, or talked down to  any of my kids, or grandkids. They still sounded cute with the way they pronounced certain words, but they attempted to say the right ones. :)

    Me too neither. Never ever. Not once! My kid is a University Professor and Chair of his department today! I never talked down to him even when he was an infant. I think it worked out pretty well! Thank you for your reply PeaPod! :

    Don't have any kids that I know of ... but I always talk to kids as if they are just short adults.  LOL

    And my friend - whose family treats little kids as if they are performing animals - can't figure out why children like me, more than her family.  LOL
