  • Brings to mind wonderful, automatic mispronunciations of English words.

The inability to pronounce the letter 'H' is lovely ('edge'og' sounds so much better than 'hedgehog', if said with a French accent), but my favourite is how accents can be embarrassing - witness French attempts to say, 'focus'.  Always fun.

And best of all is that it's reciprocal.  How the hell do you pronounce the word for 'locksmith' in French?

Cockneys say "'edge'og" as well, so it's not only the French. I don't know without looking it up what the French word for "locksmith" is, but I do remember there is no "th" sound in French.

France reminds me of one of my favourite songs by a Welsh singer. Confused? Listen to this and you won't be. :)

No, I didn't know that. We learn something new every day, don't we? Lol:)

It's lovely to visit the countryside, small towns/villages, and the Riviera.  Thanks for the offer, but I can't go right now.  I canceled my last planned trip over there.  Maybe next year.  :)
