It shouldn't matter. The spoils/patronage system is as old as the republic, however. "The spoils of war belong to the victors" as they used to say in the 1830's. If these were real world jobs, people would have to perform well to keep them. Government is a different entity altogether. Government jobs and the phrase "doing it the way it should be done", is an oxymoron.
I disagree with thee. What is oxymoronic is NOT doing it the way it should be done. That is why the current doofygoofylucy and his minions stand out. Everything they do/say is a**backwards. They conclude then they fake the steps in-between to reach that "conclusion". However I am CERTAIN there are some government employees who do not have high profiles who go to work every day and do their very best. I have to believe that. They can't all be sycophantic inept impotent treasonous traitorous toadies. Law of averages. Common sense. Now t'is true that to survive in this particular administration you have to suck up big time repeatedly to you know whom if he knows whom you are. If you don't you're toast and outta there. He requires obsequious fawning 24/7. I guess the pay is good because there are enough of the sucker uppers still there. Whatever. Even they probably barf every day because he turns their stomachs but so what? The pay is good, The bennies are good. Different strokes for different folks. Thank you for your reply ub.
