As I told my doctor years ago when he tried to prescribe a narcotic for me..."Dwight, pain is telling us something. Take it away and we might do something stupid and make it worse." He agreed.

Good for you m'dear. I am not a pill-taker either. Unless the pain is more intense than I can bear and those times have been very few and short-term. Thankfully. I fear painkillers because I never want to be addicted to anything again. Years ago when I had a weight problem the doc prescribed some pills. Amphetamines but who knew?  When I tried to get off them it was horrible. For two weeks I thought I was going to die . No energy. Listless. Depressed. That scared me bigly. I don't know if diet pills still contain amphetamines but being fatter is better. Thank you for your reply Ele! :)
