There do be a contradiction in that statement. On the one hand you are stating that she was abused and tortured, and on the other you are saying her claims were fake. In truth we know that quite a number of starry eyed women go out there to be brides and find they are abused.. so on balance I would say that generally speaking the stories are true, rather than fake.
