Hahahahahaha! Touche m'dear. SIGH. I heard/saw the Alabama Guv (an old white dame) who justified making legal the protection of statues/monuments to their rebel leaders. She said they can't change the past but they can remember it. The implication was "so it doesn't happen again". Such bullsh**! They are all racists still and reactionaries. They kid themselves if they believe anyone seriously buys those lies. Thank you for your reply Ele! :)

A statue is not an idol to be worshipped. It's a piece of history. The past should be remembered not forgotten.

In those days more or less everyone was a racist by today's standards. White supremacy was the mainstream norm on BOTH sides of the civil war.

This is what leftist trash have always done. They burn everything that is ideologically off message. From Hitler's book burning to Mao's red guards destroying all art deemed incompatible with communist thought etc etc, the left have been vandals all through history. If you cleansed history of everything morally questionable, there would be very little left.

  • History is a flow of causes and effects. For every action there is a cause. For every action there is an effect. The left and others among the lunatic fringe, have no working answers or solutions for the present, so they attack the past. Who and what we are is a progression of cause and effect. We cannot possibly know where we are without a complete understanding of where we've been. One of the hallmarks of totalitarian regimes is to attempt to destroy any remaining vestiges of the previous regime. It's been this way for thousands of years and it's been proven through archaeology and even in  recent memory of world events. There is a obsessive yearning for totalitarianism in the heart and mind of these people. It's bourne out in their misguided actions. Like it or not, the sensibilities of the twenty first century cannot be applied to a culture of the past.
