Has this ever happened to any one you know? Whe I was 9 my mother was pregnant. She went to the hospital to have the baby,

but came home without one and said our sister was stillborn. We were too young to understand much and went about our lives. Three days ago my younger sister found out that mom had put the baby up for adoption, and found her. I have a new baby sister. I talked to her yesterday. It was incredible.

Her name is Jill. She is ten years younger than me (56) and lives in KC. We are all meeting in Brunswick, Maine this Summer. I am so excited. We are exchanging photos.

Give Jill a special "hello" from your long-time internet pal Ele. Okey dokey? When I lived in Massachusetts in the late 60's my then MIL had a place on Birch Island in Casco Bay. Maine is a  BEAUTIFUL state. Every New England State is beautiful. But anyplace you can get family together is gonna be BEAUTIFUL. Summer is a good time for celebrations! Enjoy and thank you so much for sharing that incredible news. I have goose bumps. You see stuff like that happen in movies but in real life? It's so much better when it's real! Oh boy! Nifty. :):):):):):):)

My mother was born and raised in Brunswick. We are renting 2 cottages along Cundie's Harbor right along the shore. I have been there twice before and we had a great time. This trip will be much more special. Cundie's Harbor is the oldest lobstering village in New England.

Wow! Cool! Lobstermen are very jealous of anyone who traps and because my MIL's husband's family were long-time vacation Mainers she had permission to float a trap beside the dock! A rare distinction and privilege and honor. We went clamming on her property one day and had a feast that night! Fried clams, clam chowder and some kind of fancy dancy clams something or other. It was heavenly. Of course we had to put them in a large bucket with salt in it to leach out all the sand. It was a marvelous meal though and having dug the clams made it all the more special.  I just looked up Brunswick and it's just up the freeway a few miles from Portland. Oh what fun you will have! :). I'm gonna Google Cundie's Harbor! Thanks Ele! :)

One of my uncles did the same thing and it was his daughter who actually found her. Then she contacted my other sister. We had never met or even knew of another cousin.

Well that just gave me a tear, Element.  What were the odds of ever finding out?  You sound so happy about it, that makes it very heart warming to me.

Ironically, the day before, I was talking to my wife about mom being pregnant and told her "I wonder if I have a little sister out there somewhere." Premonition?

Great story. Many women find themselves in difficult situations and have to make a heartbreaking decision at childbirth. So nice to know you found your sibling. What a blessing!

Not really! Just from stories I've heard, and putting myself in others shoes.as a parent of two kids, having a third would have strained our budget even more.
