The only ones I have seen are Wicked Tuna, Deadliest Catch, and Gold Rush. They were real enough as you actually got to see the tuna, crabs and gold. Then they started putting too much drama into them, so I stopped watching.
Geez Ele I haven't heard of any of them. I guess you like to fish, right? Ever go deep-sea fishng? I always wonder how much of any of them is "real" with respect to being scripted/rehearsed/staged? I mean that call them "Reality" shows but you know how much trust you can put in advertising. Whoops. Another question cometh forth! Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)
Don't know if I told you this before but I used to work with a guy who went deep-sea fishing EVERY WEEKEND out of San Diego! He had his own smoker and sometimes he'd bring some smoked white fish into the office that was to DIE FOR! Best I've ever had hands down no kidding!. I despise liquid smoke and he never used anything like that. Tt was type of wood he used and I don't remember what it was...cherrywood maybe...I'm not sure but he was VERY GENEROUS in the amount he brought in to work and we'd get to take home half a lb at least!! I went through it so fast. Just a little lemon on it. I don't remember what fish it was but it was thick and did not taste the least bit fishy. Maybe you haven't had luck because there are less fish to catch. I mean the guys that go out with nets are maybe grabbing them before anyone else has a chance. Thank you for your reply Ele! :)
Except for minnows, netting is illegal in our river. I can't wade for walleye, either. I settle for catfish and an occasional smallmouth bass. I love smoked whitefish...the Great Lakes kind. I was actually thinking of going up to Michigan next week. There is a fish market right over the border that sells it.
Oh golly please buy extra and eat some for me! What kind of wood do you prefer and have you ever had a smoker Ele? I guess you can use them for anything like ribs or roasts or whatever. You know I was born in Highland Park, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit right? Over all these years I'm sure I've told you everything about me including where I was born. Does anything scary happen going from Ohio to Michigan? Any border crossing guards with loaded weapons who demand to see your "papers"? Or maybe I've watched too many war movies!
LOL. Only the Michigan Militia. Bunch of whackos. They tried to recruit me once. The fish market is only a mile north of the border in Temperance. The only thing dangerous might be a deer crossing the road. I don't have a smoker, but I can do so with my outdoor grill. I use hickory.
Yum. Temperance Michigan? Any old ladies there with axes? Do you have one of those huge fancy grills that the expert barbecue competitors use when they have cookoffs? Oh boy I'm getting hungry and I already had breakfast. I'm not physically hungry but mentally I'm craving smoked white fish! Oy vey! Thank you for your reply. Those militia guys are wackos. They tried to recruit you? That's even scarier. I hope you use the buddy system and a pal will be with you. Someone who preferably is a black belt. Sheesh. :(

Do you do so often? Of course summer is the perfect time for that. So next week you go to my home state for some smoked whitefish? I am already salivating. You see what a hopeless Foodie I am? Oy vey! :(
I NEVER order anything online Ele. NEVER. I don't do any financial transactions on line. I don't access any bank information online. I am a hands-on buyer. Jim is the opposite. I don't trust anyone to provide me with anything I can't touch see feel in person. Also if I buy in person locally it is easy peasy for me to return it if I don't like it. You buy online only and don't like something you have to package it up and ship it back and wait for credit or a hassle. Not my cuppa tea. Not me. But thanks for the info. You can buy anything online I betcha. Anything or anyone is for sale if the price is right! SIGH. :(
I haven't watched a reality show in nigh on to a decade now. I stopped watching when it starting becoming brutally obvious that most of them were scripted. The ones I found most scripted were Gene Simmons Family Jewels and Pawn Stars.
I LOVE Pawn Stars even though I know it's scripted. I read that the stars of the show aren't there except when they are filming. I guess they're all very wealthy and don't have to work. It's just that they are such characters even if totally scripted. Haven't seen "the old man" around lately. I like it for the same reason I like Antiques Roadshow. Some stuff is incredibly valuable and some is just junk and the experts figure out which is which. I hope that part at least is real! Thank you for your reply bevo! :)
