Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Some folks tell you they do not judge. What are choices/preferences but judgments? Does judging always involve condemnation? Do you condemn?
Everyone judges all the time. People who harshly criticise others for being judgemental seem very self blind to the hypocrisy of such a judgement.
The modern obsession with the virtue of being non judgemental comes from a distortion of the bible. We are not meant to judge PEOPLE in the sense that we shouldn't condemn their immortal souls. God is the judge of that. Though we are meant to judge the morality of actions.
It doesn't mean everything is black and white. There are many things I'm neutral on. Though neutrality is a judgement just as much any other judgement. When I don't pass judgement at all, it's because I have insufficient insight to reach a conclusion.
If you have moral beliefs (i.e. you aren't a nihilistic sociopath) and you don't judge, then it stands to reason that you're just passively going along with other people's judgements. The establishment encourages this way of thinking because it wants to shape the beliefs of everyone in society. It's just manufacturing group think through false morality.
I never thought I would agree with you on anything, but you're spot on with these comments. The only difference I have is that at times, when I make no judgment, it isn't necessarily from lack of insight or facts to reach a conclusion, but merely that I don't care one way or the other.
