The ultimate in irony would be that all the murders/killings/deaths committed in the name of religion were for nought. Life is random. What?

There is no reason for religion. There is no God or Gods and it is all due to filling a need for frightened humans. Worship nature. Worship the sun. Worship a God. Worship a man. Worship a woman. Put the responsibility for our "salvation" upon "the other" who cares about us, listens to us, created us. Then we find there is no such thing as that. Never was. Never will be. Everything is random. Would that help you or devastate you? Having spent your entire life depending upon a God that never existed except in your imagination and need for there to be one? Would you regret anything you did/said or would you stand firm in your beliefs/resolve despite a truth proving otherwise? I dunno folks. The world under don juan is way worser. How could a loving God have created HIM and allowed HIM to govern us? Cruel and unusual punishment for just being born? I dunno folks.

How does one know that there is no God?  Is it because we cant see Him?  One can't see the wind, yet we know it exists.  Is it because "god" doesn't act/perform like we think it should?  (I asked for a $1,000,000 and never got it, therefore god doesn't exist.)  If God doesn't exist, then why do we (humans) try to be good?  If all that's out there is empty cosmos, why bother?  Why do we condemn murder?  If there's no God then there's no reason for right and wrong.  Each person should just do whatever they desire as when they die that's it.  How do you know George Washington really existed?  Have you seen him?  Did he really cross the Delaware?  Can you prove it?

Those who believe in God have faith.  One has faith that that green paper in their wallet is worth something.  What if one drew a smiley face on a blank piece of paper and gave it to the cashier at starbucks to  purchase their latte?  What makes the green paper of any more value than the one with the smiley face?  Faith in the government to back up that green paper.
When we look at the Taj Mahal we think it's magnificent.  We know that someone built the Taj Mahal.   When we look at the universe around us, there's no dispute that it's magnificent.  From quarks to galaxies we can see that it operates with complete precision.  So how can we say that someone built the Taj Mahal but that the universe (which is much more grander) simply "happened"?

When God creates us we are newborn babies - pure and innocent.  Our "corruption" comes after that.  God doesn't teach us to lie, cheat, steal, manipulate, murder (and such), we learn that all on our own.
God allows us to choose.  We choose to be an upright honest person or an a-hole.  Our choices aren't always "good".  If one takes their phone into the bathtub with them and then drops it in the water, is it God's fault?  No, that person made a dumb decision all by themselves.  That person now must suffer the consequences of that action (has to buy a new phone, renter all their contacts, etc.).  God didn't force those consequences on that person, they were simply the result of a bad decision.   As for Trump, WE allowed him to govern.  WE allowed him to be on the ballot (not the first time he ran for president).  WE allowed him to progress as far as he did.   To say "God put him there" is trying to place the blame on someone other than ourselves.  (WE means we as people - russian, korean, american or whatever)

How do we KNOW? We don't. But whether God exists or doesn't has nothing to do  being honest or kind or helpful or truthful. At least to me. Why should we be those things? Because it makes sense to me and is preferable for me.  I wonder why so many people think as you do?  That without God/religion there would be no reason to be "good", do "good". I think the value of striving to be those things does not lie a religion. It makes sense to me to help others not hurt them because I would prefer they help me and not hurt me. A simply way of stating the Golden Rule. Are all "bad" guys atheists? I don't think so. Thank you for your thoughtful reply Shuhak. More qeustions arise from this.

Humans have killed savagely since  time began to gain power and become top of the pecking order.....at first it was to get the first bite from the apple and then to live the highlife when they were top dog and leader of the pack.....
Inventing religion was akin to America inventing the first nuclear bomb......Inventors  of nearly all religions have slaughter and tortured countless millions of innocent men, women, children and babies to put the fear of death in normal people.....
Huge Drug Cartels are using the same tactics now as Isis are doing again in the Middle East ......Armed religious fanatics commit the most appalling atrocities to stay in power.....

Get rid of all these religions and all these waste less deaths would stop and then most likely other evil ways would come about for these despots to remain as top dog.....
