Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Ever have an abundance of choices so overwhelming you were unable to choose? How many is too many? Is there an ideal number?
The example for myself is related to food of course. Years ago when my son lived in Denver Jim and I visited him and his then-fiancee. One day we went meandering out and about and went into a world-class candy store. With many rooms. No joke. It was overwhelming. Maybe they weren't separate rooms exactly...more like very large alcoves. Tons of people were inside. I went from alcove to alcove trying to decide but I also have a problem with claustrophobia and it must have been a tourist's delight because at one point I started hyperventilating so I told Jim I had to get out of there. I fled through the door and sat outside on a bench waiting for them to come out. There were way too many choices and way too many people. If you've ever been/felt claustrophobic you know it ain't pleasant. I have experienced too many choices at others times and honestly it usually has to do with foods. You go into an upscale store with imported jams and jellies and cheeses and meats and breads and pastries and all kinds of gustatory delights. Which do you choose? How much do you want to spend? Everything looks enticing and delicious and I either overbuy or buy nothing. I love marmalade and only ever had orange. One store had marmalades galore. Lemon, lime, raspberry, strawberry, berries I've never heard of. Grapefruit too. Of course they were pricey. Which would YOU choose if you were a marmalade guy? Sigh. Decisions decisions decisions! AARRGGHH! Thank you for your reply tom and Happy Thursday! :)
The colors of the other marmelades were so pretty though tom. Raspberry, lime, lemon et al. Of course pretty doesn't necessarily translate to delicious. I learned my lesson. I remember which ones I tried (I think I remember...it was decades ago). Grapefruit and lime. I'm a orange only marmalade gal from now on fer shure. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)
