Changes in what the population actually believe take decades. Fast political change is an illusion. It was already like that. Trump's ideas are what the American right already believed. Those views were just unrepresented until Trump came along.

Similarly the views of a closet communist like Bernie Sanders appeal to very large section of the population. If and when such scum manages to become president, people will see it as a massive shift in public opinion. It isn't really. It was already there. It just needed a few percentage points to tip the scales.

You need to believe political shifts you don't like were achieved by deception because you can't face reality that real Americans hate your guts. The left is distressed by division. You need to believe that most people have just been tricked into opposing you. No, Rosie. They know exactly what they're doing. They will never ever submit to you. Ever.
