I can excuse a lot in this question because I realize that you have very little in the way of a working knowledge of the courts. There was a time in which I would have responded in a similar fashion. That's a combination of bias and emotion speaking. The truth is that everyone is entitled to legal representation in a court of law. Everyone is entitled to an aggressive defense regardless of where the testimony and the evidence leads. Taking a case does not mean that an attorney is in some way "unethical". It's his/her profession and it's what they do. It's never unethical to challenge evidence and impeach testimony. Determining where the truth lies is not an unethical process. I find it humorous indeed when laymen try to decide who's worthy of a day in court and who is not.
There's a problem when the courts are known as the "legal system" ... and not the "justice system" or "truth system". They have nothing to do with truth or justice.
Be that as it may, it's what we have. Now I know that if you were the defendant in a criminal case you would exhaust every avenue of defense available. If you say otherwise, you're being dishonest across the board. Fortunately, it's not about your sense of justice or your sense of fair play or your value system.
