Black voters traditionally support the Democrat party...so nothing new here.

Black voters have always voted Dem. Something like 95%, they vote Dem. they don't vote for the person. This is historical fact, no prejudice.

It is a shame because hillary did so much damage to Obama, but they will still support her, because the party just does without thinking. If she can hijack the party, being a corrupt neo-con, it means anyone could hijack the party.  I pray she loses so we can clean it up.

ITpro, I agree. This is not saying I like Trump, but I dislike Hillary even more, It's her socialistic Queen entitlement belief.  And of course being a white collar criminal also.

    Actually, not. That's not true.

"Traditionally" (as in before 1968), the African-American vote was much more split.

    When the GOP adopted the "Southern Strategy" to make racist f***tards their base, THEN African-Americans went from 60% D - 30% R to 90% D - 30% R.

Only if your history starts at 1968.

Because African-Americans are not particularly stupid.

When they are exposed to things like this over and over again, they get the message:

You start out in 1954 by saying, “Nigger, nigger, nigger.” By 1968 you can't say “nigger” — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Nigger, nigger.”

I am in the same bind, the party is not our party this time, hillary is no democrat, she hijacked it with her friends and her money.  I don't want to vote trump but there is no choice.

    Sorry, that's a typo.

    I meant 90% D - 10% R.

Where are you finding data on elections that far back? The fartherest I've found with data is 1976.

Thank You. But if you follow their link to http://jointcenter.org/sites/default/files/Blacks%20and%20the%202012%20Democratic%20National%20Convention.pdf

    (Go to pg 9)

It shows that Blacks have since 1936 consistantly voted 2-1 in favor of  the Democratic party than the Republican. With many of those years being 3-1 Democratic.

There was only one year that was close to your 60%-40% with the most close being in the 1956 (61 D, 39 R) .  It is worse now with the 90%-10%.

But as I said Black have constistantly voted Democratic.

OS, simply not true. Blacks have always voted majority Dem. not always at that specific % but way before "68". It's a voodoo subject as to why they vote predominately Dem. and to say the truth would only make me look like a racist, which I'm not. I will say that people who are in a low income bracket and have minimal education vote Dem. That's a fact Jack, lol.

@m2c -- Please look at the change from 1960 to 1964 in the table on page 9.

That tells you when the sea change occurred.

Yes I said it got worse.   But as I also said blacks have always voted at least 2 to 1 Dem with one or two exceptions.
